Rivers State Begins Transition from Emergency Rule with Thanksgiving Service
Activities marking the end of emergency rule in Rivers State have commenced with a thanksgiving service at the Ecumenical Center, Abonima Wharf, Port Harcourt.
The event was attended by the state’s Sole Administrator, top government officials, traditional rulers, security chiefs, and other dignitaries.
The thanksgiving service signals the beginning of transition activities for the formal handover and reinstatement of the suspended governor and members of the legislature, whose six-month suspension is set to end on September 18, 2025.
