‘Football betting is not a job,’ Naira Marley warns Nigerian youth

 


Nigerian singer Naira Marley has cautioned young Nigerians against treating sports betting as a source of income. In a message shared on his X handle, cited by PUNCH Online, the artist highlighted the unpredictability and potential dangers of gambling addiction.


He wrote: ‘Football bet no be work bro. Please stop before they finish you. You are far too smart to be the only thing standing in your way.’


Marley’s warning comes amid growing concerns over the impact of sports betting on Nigeria’s youth. With widespread smartphone access, internet connectivity, and the popularity of football, many young Nigerians have turned to betting platforms hoping for quick financial gains.
