“2027 elections: Tinubu’s govt not ready for free and fair polls — Buba Galadima”

Buba Galadima, a chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of working against a credible electoral process ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on Arise TV’s Prime Time, Galadima alleged that government tactics aimed at destabilising opposition parties suggest a plan to weaken political competition.

“This government is not ready to organise a free and fair election… From their antics and how they are destabilising parties, that suggests they don’t want opposition at all,” he said.

He further warned that unless the administration changes its style of governance, it risks defeat in 2027. Galadima also criticised INEC, claiming it lacks the power to enforce electoral laws or rein in politicians who are already politicking just two years into the current government’s tenure.
